Culture in the heart of the campus: EUBA hosted Petržalka Days

The Petržalka Days 2025 festival brought not only cultural excitement to Bratislava’s largest city district, but also new energy in the form of a strategic cooperation with the Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA). For the first time, the festival was held on the extensive campus of the university, which not only provided new premises, but also one of the main partners of the event. This step not only provided more space for visitors, but also a clear signal that the academic community can be an active part of social and community life. EUBA is a partner of the OpenMuse project, with its mission to foster cross-cultural musical collaboration and accessibility, aligns perfectly with the festival’s celebration of diverse artistic expression, non-economic value of music and community engagement.

The festival, which this year stretched over four days for the first time – from June 19 to 22, 2025 – welcomed approximately 30,000 visitors. The university’s vast space with an area of more than 35,000 m² provided ideal conditions for a comfortable and safe organization of a diverse program. EUBA participated not only in the organizational arrangements, but also in the overall concept of the festival, thus significantly contributing to its success.

One of the main pillars of this year’s festival was the support of local artists. The program offered a varied selection of performances that were carried in the spirit of Petržalka’s identity and local creation. Folklore groups such as Hájenka and Poleno, the energetic Braňo Jobus, and the charismatic Katka Ščevlíková performed on stage. Other talented artists from Petržalka and the surrounding area also performed, inspiring a wide audience with their programs.

However, the festival was not just about music. The additional program included children’s attractions, carousels, chillout zones, gastro stands, and many accompanying activities. Thanks to the diverse offer, all age categories found their place – from families with children, through students to seniors. Free admission only underlined the openness of the festival and its community character.

The atmosphere of the event was exceptional – for four days, the EUBA area was transformed into a lively center of culture, joy, and meeting. The combination of local art, academic space and civic engagement created a unique experience that visitors took home with strong emotions and a smile on their faces.

Petržalka Days 2025 showed that even a traditional event can gain new momentum if it is combined with an institution that believes in community and openness. This year, EUBA became not only the host, but also an active creator of social events in Petržalka. If you missed the festival, definitely don’t miss it next year. And if you were there, you will definitely confirm that it was worth it.
