Live Music Maps
The OpenMusE Live Music Census Dashboard presents a comprehensive analysis of data collected during the inaugural European Live Music Census, conducted on October 11, 2024.
This census encompassed five major European cities: Heidelberg and Mannheim in Germany, Helsinki in Finland, Vilnius in Lithuania, and Lviv in Ukraine. The initiative aimed to capture a detailed snapshot of live music activities across these diverse urban centers.
The Live Music Maps offers a geographical overview of live music venues across the participating cities:
- Geographical Location: highlighting key locations and their role in the local music ecosystem.
- Types of Musical Venues: Ranging from pubs and bars to church choirs to full-scale concert halls.
- Venue Information: Information on key venues including links to their websites and socials.
The maps aim to identify live music hubs within certain cities and inform policy makers, city planners, or relevant music industry stakeholders of the live music scene within their cities.
Do you know a venue that belongs on our map? You can help us grow the map by submitting a venue here.
This initiative builds upon the methodology of the UK Live Music Census of 2017, aiming to provide a detailed understanding of the live music landscape in Europe. The findings are expected to inform policy-making across Europe for years to come.
